the above Defendant Maketh
Oath that William Morris< no role >
is a Material Witness for
this Deponent on his Defence to the above Prosecutions and
without whose Testimony he cannot safely proceed to
Tryal and Saith that he hath for at least ten Days
last past Caused diligent Search and Enquiry to be
made after the said William Morris< no role >
in order to have
him as a Witness for this Deponent on his said
Tryals but not withstanding his Utmost Endeavours
he hath not been able to find him out so as to have
him here but was Informed the Day before Yesterday
and not before that the said William Morris< no role >
was
at York which Information this Deponent believes
to be true And further saith that he verily believes
he shall be able to have said William Morris< no role >
as a Witness for him at the next Session and will
do all in his Power for that purpose
