At the Delivery of the King's Gaol of Newgate holden
for the County of Middlesex at Justice Hall in the
Old Bailey in the Suburbs of the City of London on
Wednesday the Twenty fifth day of February in the
Twenty Ninth year of the Reign of our Sovereign
Lord George the Second new King of Great Britain Etc.
and in the year of our Lord 1756.

The Indictment Setsforth That the
Dept. had in his Custody & possession
on the 20th. of December last at the
Parish of Saint Martin in the Fields
a certain Writing purporting to be
a Bill of Exchange and to be Signed with
the Name Thos. Downs< no role > which Writing
is as follows Vizt. £10:0. wt haven
28th. Novr. 1755 Twenty Days after
Light please to pay unto Ann Biglands< no role >
or order the Sum of ten pounds and
place it to Acct. as advised [..] me
Thos: Downs. To Mr. Benjn. Titley< no role >
Mercht. Nicholas Lane< no role > Land on And
the Indictment Charges that the Deft.
after the 24th. June 1734 (to wit) on
the said 20th. of December last did
feloniously make forge & Counterfeit
a certain Acceptance of the sd. Writing
in the Words & Figures full Vizt. 6th. Decr.
1755 Accepted & Benj. Titley with
an Intention to defraud Henry Blake< no role >
against the Statute.

And also for uttering & publishing
as true the said forged Acceptance.
knowing it to be forged & Counterfeited
with an Intention to defraud the sd.
