That Thomas James< no role >
is a Material Witness in this Tryal & That
The said Thomas James< no role >
is now at Whitehaven
in the County of
Cumberland
as this Deponent has been Informed and verily
Believes to be True of This Deponent Saith that about Three
or four Days after this Depondent was Apprehended on Suspicion
of Committing the Fact Charged in this Indictment he did Write
a Letter to the said Thos. James< no role >
at Whitehaven
in the County
aforesaid And at that time did not Know what a Subporna
was and Would have sent one down to Whitehaven
of he had
Known the Nature of the same And this Deponent saith that
he Intends Immediately to send down a Subporna in Order
to Oblige the said Thomas James< no role >
to Attend the Tryal of this
Deponent at the Next Sessions And this Deponent saith
That the said Thos. James< no role >
is a Material Witness to the
Facts Charged in this Indictment and that he Cannot
Safely Proceed to the Tryal of this Cause without the
Testimony of the said Thomas James< no role >
