AN INQUISITION indented, taken for our sovereign Lord the King, at the Parish of
[..] in the County of
Middlesex , the [..] year of the Reign our
Sovereign Lord GEORGE the Third, by the Grace of God, Great-Britain, France, and
Ireland, King, Defender of the Faith, and so forth, before Thomas Phillips< no role >
one of the Coroners of our said Lord the King for the said County, on View of the Body of
a New born Male child then and there lying dead, upon the Oath of

good and lawful Men of the said County, duly chosen, and who being then and there duly
sworn and charged to inquire, for our said Lord the King, when, how, and by what Means, the
said Newborn Male Child came to his
Death, Do, upon their Oath, say, That Some Person or Persons to the Jurors aforesaid
unKnown not having the Fear of God before his her or their Eyes but being moved and seduced
by the Instigation of the Devil on the Thirtieth Day of June in the Year aforesaid with
Force and Arms at the Parish aforesaid in the County aforesaid in and upon the said New
born Male Child in the Peace of God and of our said Lord the King then and there being feloniously
wilfully and of his her or their Male aforethought did make an Assault and That the
said Person or Persons was aforesaid unknown with his her or their Hands the said New
born Male Child in and upon the Jno head of him the said New born Male Child did then
and there press beat and shike and did then and there give unto him the Said New
born Male Child by the pressing beating and striking aforesaid in and upon the said
Forehead of the said Newborn Male Child One Mortal Bruise, of which said Mortal
Bruise he the said Newborn Male Child then and then instantly died And so the Jurors
aforesaid upon their Oath aforesaid do say That the said Person a Persons so as aforesaid
unknown him the said Newborn Male Child in Manner and by the Mean
aforesaid feloniously Wilfully and of his her or their Malice afore thought died Kill and Murder
against the Peace of our said Lord the King his Crown and Dignity

IN WITNESS whereof, as well the said Coroner as the said John Skinner< no role >
the Foreman of the said Jurors, on the Behalf of himself and the Rest of his said Fellows, in
their Presence, have, to this Inquisition, set their Hands and Seals, the Day and Year first
above written.
