AN Inquisition indented taken for our Sovereign Lord the King at the Parish of Saint Jamias
in the County of Middlesex , the seventh Day of December in the 22d, Year of the
Reign of our Sovereign Lord GEORGE the third , by the Grace of God of Great Britain, France and Ireland, KING, Defender of
the Faith, Etc. before Edward Umfreville< no role > one of the Coroners of Our said Lord
KING, for the said County, on view of the body of Mary Sloe< no role >
then and there lying dead, upon the oath of John Scott< no role > William
Phillips
< no role > Daniel Singfile< no role > William Allen< no role > John Scott< no role > William Thicker< no role >
Thomas Stanwell< no role > JohnStarwell Hammond Franklin< no role >
James Evans< no role > John Fever< no role > John Best< no role > Christopher Witt< no role > John Poulter< no role >
and George Walker< no role >
good and lawful Men of the said County duly chosen as by Law required, and who being then and there duly sworn
and charged to enquire for our said Lord the KING, when, how, and by what means the said Mary Sloe< no role >
came to h er Death, Do upon their Oath say, That the said Mary Sloe< no role >
Not being of sound Mind Memory and Understanding but Lunatic and
Distracted on the Fifth Day of December in the Year aforesaid One End of
her Garters to the Fost Lath of the Bedstead inthe a LodgingRoom or Apartment
situate in the Parish and County aforesaid And the other End thereof about
her own Neck did fix, tye and fasten And therewith did then and there hang
suffocate and Strangle herself Of which said Hanging Suffocation and
Strangling she the said Mary Sloe then and there died And so the Jurors aforesaid
upon their Oath aforesaid do Say That The said Mary Sloe not being of sound Mind Memory and Understanding but Lunatic and distracted in Manner and
by the Means aforesaidaccidentdid kill herself

IN Witness whereof, as well the said Coroner, as the said John Scott< no role > the Foreman of
the said Jurors on behalf of himself and the rest of his Fellows, in their presence, have to this Inquisition set their
Hands and Seals the Day and Year first abovementioned
