of Southwark
in the County of Surrey
on the tenth day of October in the
thirty sixth year of the reign of our Sovereign Lord George the third by the grace of God of Great
Britain France and Ireland King Defender of the faith and so forth

aforesaid
who being now here duly chosen sworn and charged to inquire for our said Lord the King when
how and in what manner the said

came to his death say upon their oath
that the said

on the eighth day of October in the year aforesaid not being
of sound mind memory and understanding but lunatic and distracted one end and of a certain
piece of Cord fastened round a certain beam in a left in a certain warehouse of him the said

situate in the parish aforesaid within the Borough
of Southwark
aforesaid in the County
aforesaid and the other end of the said piece of Cord round and about his own neck did
then and there Fix tie and fasten by means whereof the said

did that
and there hang strangle and suffocated himself of which said hanging strangling and suffocated
he the said

did then and there die. And so the Jurors aforesaid upon
their oath aforesaid do say that the said

memory and understanding but lunatic and distracted did hang and kill himself
In Witness whereof as well the said Coroner as the said John Courage the foreman
of the said Jurors on behalf of himself and the rest of his fellows in their presence have
to this Inquisition set their hands and seals the day year and place first abovewritten
