An Inquisition Indented taken for our Sovereign Lord the King at London that is to say at the
parish of Saint John the Baptist in the ward of Dowgate in London aforesaid on the twenty ninth day of January in the
thirty fifth year of the reign of our Sovereign Lord George the third by the Grace of Great Britain France and Ireland King
Defender of the faith and so forth before Thomas Shelton< no role > Gentleman Coroner of our said Lord the King for the City of London and
Borough of Southwark on view of the body of John Bowley< no role > Bennett now here lying dead by the oath of Thomas Potter< no role >

good and lawful men of the City of London aforesaid who being now here duly chosen sworn and charged
to inquire for our said Lord the King when how and in what manner the said John Bewley< no role > Bennett came
to his death say upon their oath that the said John Bewley< no role > Bennett on the twenty first day of January
in the year aforesaid being in and up a certain Chimney belonging to the dwelling house of one
Lomas situate in the parish ofin the ward ofin London
aforesaid It so happened that certain peices of bricks accidentally casually [..] and by misfortune fell from
and off the Top of the said Chimney down to and upon the head of the said John Bewley< no role > Bennett by means
whereof he the said John Bewley< no role > Bennett did then and there receive divers mortal wounds and bruises
in and upon the head of him the said John Bewley< no role > Bennett of which said mortal wounds and bruises
he the said John Bewley< no role > Bennett from the said twenty first day of January in the year aforesaid
until the twenty sixth day of the same Month of January in the same year as well at the said parish of
Iin the ward ofin London aforesaid as also at the said
parish of Saint John Baptist in the Ward of Dowgate aforesaid in London aforesaid did languish and
languishing did live on which said twenty sixth day of January in the year aforesaid the said John
Bewley Bennett< no role > at parish and ward aforesaid in London aforesaid of the said mortall wounds and
bruises did die And so the Jurors aforesaid upon their oath aforesaid do say that the said John
Bewley Bentley< no role > in manner and by the means aforesaid casually and by misfortune was
accidentally killed In witness whereof as well the said Coroner as the said Jurors have
to this Inquisition set their hands and seals the day year and place first above
written
