Southwark


a Depositions of Witnesses taken at the Parish
of Saint John within the Borough of
Southwark in the County of Surrey this
12th day of April 1792 on view of the
body of a Man unknown now here lying
Dead.

Philip Watts< no role > of No.14 freeman Lane in the Parish of
Saint John within the Borough of Southwark Carpenter and
one of the Bearer of the Parish aforesaid maketh Oath that
about between the house of Eleven and twelve in the Morning
of Tuesday last Dept. reced direction from the Beadle of said
Parish to take a shell to [..] George's Stairs in said Parish
to put a drowned Man in - Dept. immediately took a shell
belonging to the Parish and went to George's Stairs and
there found the deced who appeared to be a last about fifteen os sixteen years of are lying with all his Cloaths on across the
cause way of the Stairs partly covered with water Dept
put the deced into the shell and conveyed him to the Bone house
of said Parish - the deced appeared to have been some time
in the Water but there [..] don't appear to be any bruises
or Marks of violence on the deced.
