a Patrol of the Ward of
Farringdon
within London maketh Oath and saith
that about ½ part 3 O Clock on Sunday Morning last
he was going his Rounds and at Amen Coroner just
by Stationer Court he saw the deced without a Hat
or a Coat standing at the Door of a House there wch
Dept. thinks was No. 5 with his hands clambering
against the Door as if he wanted to feel for a knocker
or Bell and crying out "Hallon" Dept. went to him
and asked him what he wanted there whether he was
a Lodger there [..] Whether he wanted to go in or not
the deced answd. and sayed he wanted to inquire
for Chamber Street
Goodmans Fields
and that the
people there [..] aning as Dept: apprehend the
people in said House No. 5 had wright to inform
him-Dept: told him he thought it unreasonable
in him (the deced) to think people had wright to give
him any answer at that late hour for that there was Watchmen enough
in the Streets to inform him without disturbing the
Inhabitants to which the deced sayed something
in broken English which Dept: did not understand
from which Circumstance Dept: thought it best to
take him to the Watchhouse and anor: Watchmen
then comeing up Dept: and said other Watchman
took the deced to the Watchhouse of said Ward
and there delivered him up in Charge to the Constable
of the Night that while the Dept. and said other
Watchman
was conveying the deced to said Watch-
house be several times sayed to Dept: whenever Dept:
happened to hold in his Lanthorn near, him (the deced) [..] "What
"you are going to burn me with Brimstone" and
