Articles of agreement Indented had made Couchded and fully agreed upon the
twenty SixthDay of Julyin the seventh Year of the Reign of Our Soveraign Lord George the second by the Grace of
God of Great Britain France and Ireland King Defender of the Faith [..] and in the Year of One Lord 1733 . Between John
Thruckstone

John Clarke< no role > Hosier Church Wardens of the Parish of Saint Dionis Back church London and Richard Tizzell< no role > Tallow chandler
and on the Behalf of the said Parish of the other Pair as followeth. Vizt.

Imprimis The said John Thruckstone for himself his Executors Administrators and assigned Doth Covenant promise and agree to and with the said Church Wardens and
Overseers their Innessors and assigns by these presents in manner following (That is to say) That he the said John Thruckstone his Executors administrators or assigns shall and will
at his and their own proper Cofts and Charged on or before the fourth Day of August next ensuing the Date of these presents find and provide at Cottenham in the County of Middlesex
a house fill and conveinent to receive maintain and Keep all poor persons Pentioners, children at Nurse and at the City Workhouse and all Casual and other poor as now are chargable
and which during the continuance of this present agreement shall become chargeable to this said parish of saint Dionis Backchurch in London (Except such pentioners not exceeding
three) having been Housekeepers or Children of Lady housekeepers in the said Parish as the said Church Wardens and overseers and their Junessors shall from time to time during this
agreement nominate and appoint as herein after is mentioned) And That He the said John Thruckstone his Executors administrators and assigns shall and will at his and their
life proper Costs and Charges give find and provide to and for all such poor as aforesaid from the said fourth Day of August for and during and into the full End and Term of one year
from theme next evening good whole some sufficient and convenient Victuals Drink Washing Lodging apparel Physick and other necessary's and Things fitting and convenient for
them every or any of them to have and the Victuals to be given to and provided for the said poor to be such and in such manner as is mentioned in the Bill of Fare hereunder written
And Further That if any of the said poor shall during his her or their continuance in the said house happen to did Then such of them so dying shall be decently and in a Christian like
manner buryed at the Cofts and Charges of the said John Thruckstone his Executors or Administrators or Assigns But the parish Ground to be allowed for that Purpose Item the
said Church Wardens and Overseers (for and on the Behalf of the parishioners of the said Parish) for themselves and their Innessors Church Wardens and Overseers of the Poor
of the said Parish of Saint Dionis Backchurch in London (in Consideration of the said Premisses) Do Covenant promise and agree to and with the said John Thruckstone< no role > This name instance is in set 984. his Executors
administrators and assigns by these presents in manner following (that is to say) That they the said Churchwardens and Overseers their Innessors and assigns or some or one of them
shall and will well and truely pay or cause to be paid unto the said John Thruckstone his Executors administrators or assignes the Sum of One Hundred and sixty seven pounds and
five Shillings of lawfull Money of Great Britain for such his or their maintaining and keeping the said poor for one whole year as aforesaid and so proportionably for a greater
or lesser Term than a year) Subject nevertheless to the Deduction herein after mentioned by four equal Quarterly Payments (that is to day) The fourth Day of November the
Fourth day of February the Fourth Day of May and the Fourth Day of August The first Quarterly Payments thereof to begin and be made upon the fourth day of November next
evening the Date of these presents and also shall and will deliver unto the said John Thruckstone his Executors Administrators or Assigns the Value of two Pounds four Shillings
P Annum during the said Term in Bread for the use of the said Poor Weekly according to the Donation thereof. And also That all Gains and Profits which shall be made gained or
received by or from the Mork or Labour of the said Poor (whom the said John Thruckstone his Executors administrators or assigns may employ in any lawfull Business or Employment
according to their Capacity Strength and ability in the Judgement or opinion of the said Church Wardens and overseers or their Innessors and not otherwise) shall be to and for the
only proper twe and Benefit of the said John Thruckstone his Executors administrators and assigns during the Continuance of this agreement Item the said John
Thruckstone for himself his Executors administrators and assigns doth hereby further Covenant promise and agree during the Continuance of this agreement to
teach and Instruct or cause to be taught and instructed the Poor Children in the said a house belonging to the said Parish to read in the best manner he or they can and
to find and provide Masters and Mistresses for them and to puff and place them out apprentice or apprentices as the Law directs at his and their Costs and Charges with the
Consent and approbation of the Church Wardens and Overseers their Innessors and assigns But not to Puff or place them out apprentice or Apprentices and householder
within the said Parish Item it is hereby further Covenanted Concluded and agreed upon by and between the said party's to these presents That the poor now chargeable
upon the said parish shall be received taken and admitted into the said house at Cottenham or [..] where at the Expence of the said John Thruckstone on or before the said Fourth Day of
august, and that all such poor as shall be afterwards charged or become chargeable upon the said parish during the Continuance of this agreement shall be also received taken
and admitted into the said House of Cottenham or elsewhere at the Expence of the said John Thruckstone and be provided for and maintained in manner herein before mentioned at the
Softs and Charges of the said John Thruckstone his Executors administrators or assigns, And if the said John Thruckstone his Executors or administrators shall Occasion any
Controversy Suits or Disputes touching or concerning the Legality of any such person or persons settlement in the said parish and shall give Notice thereof to the said Church Wardens
and overseers or their Successors Then the said Church Wardens and overseers and their Successors shall and will (at the Request Costs and Charges of the said John
Thruckstone his Executors administrators or assigns) assist the said John Thruckstone his Executors administrators or assigns in appealing or in any other legal Way of
Proceeding to Discharge the Parish of them if not duely intituled to a settlement on the said Parish Item the said John Thruckstone for himself his Executors
administrators and assigns doth further Covenant promise and agree to and with the said Churchwardens and Overseers their Successors and assigns by these presents
that He the said John Thruckstone his Executors administrators and assigns shall and will at all times hereafter during the said Term save defend keep harmless and
indemnified the said Church Wardens and Overseers and the Parishioners of the said Parish of and from all suits Costs Charges passes Fines Damages and Expentes
whatsoever that they may Bucurr sustain or be putt unto for or by Reason or Means or on account of the poor now belonging or which shall belong to the said Parish And
That if shall and may be lawfull to and for the said Church Wardens and overseers and their successors and such other Person or Persons by them and the vestry of the said
Parish of saint Dionis & Backchurch in London appointed when and as often as they or any of them shall think proper during the Continuance of this agreement to enter and come
into the said House at Cottenham and inspect enquiry and see the Management state and Condition thereof and of the Poor therein To the End that the said Poor may be taken Care of and
maintained according to agreement, and all just Complaints heard and abuses immediatly redressed if any such shall appear, or in Default of Redressing such abuses upon Notice Church Wardens
and overseers and their Successors to beat Liberty to take away their poor and vacate this agreement any Thing herein before contained to the contrary notwithstanding Provided always
and if is hereby Covenants [..] and agreed by and between the said Party's to these presents That if either of the Church wardens and overseers or their Successors or the said John Thruckstone shall be
[..] agreement and to discontinue the poor as aforesaid at the End of the said Term of one Year and shall give six Months thereof before the Expiration of
