To the Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of the
Parish of Saint Mary Islington
in the County of Middlesex
and to the Church-wardens and Overseers of the Poor of
the Parish of Saint Dionis Backchurch
in the City of London

WHEREAS Complaint hath been made by you the
Church-wardens and Overseers of the Poor of the
said Parish of Saint Mary Islington
unto us whose Hands and Seals are
hereunto set, two of his Majesty's Justices of the Peace (where
of one is of the Quorum) for the County afore-
said, that James Cutter< no role > , Elizabeth< no role > his Wife and two
Children to wit, Mary< no role > aged about Thirteen Years and
James< no role > aged about four Years & have
lately intruded into your said Parish of Saint Mary Islington
there to inhabit as Parishioners contrary to the Laws relating to
the Settlement of the Poor, and are there like to become charge-
able, if not timely prevented : And Whereas, upon due Exami-
nation and Enquiry made into the Premisses as well as
upon the Oath of the said James Cutter< no role >
it appears unto Us, and we accordingly, that the said
James cutter< no role > , Elizabeth< no role > his wife and two Children
to wit, Mary< no role > and James< no role > , are
like to become chargeable unto the said Parish of Islington
and that the last legal Place of
Settlement of the said James Cutter< no role > , his wife & two
Children is in the said Parish of
Saint Dionis Backchurch

There are therefore in his Majesty's Name, to order and require
you the said Church-wardens and Overseers of the Poor of the
Parish of St. Mary Islington aforesaid, that you
or some of you, do forthwith remove and convey the said James
Cutter
< no role > together with Elizabeth< no role > his wife their two
Children from your said Parish of Islington
to the said Parish of Saint
Dionis Backchurch and them deliver
to the Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor there, or some
or one of them, together with his our Warrant or Order, or a
true Copy hereof : whereby they are likewise required, in his
Majesty' s Name, and by Virtue of the Statutes in such Case
made, forthwith to receive the said James Cutter< no role > & Family
into their said Parish and provide for them
as their own Parishinoers then under our hands and Seals the
13 Day of December in the Year of our
Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and Sixty
