WHEREAS Mary Read< no role > of the Parish of
Saint Dionis Back Church in the City of
London a Single Woman , in her voluntary
Examination taken this Day in Writing, and upon Oath,
before me (one of his Majesty's Justices of the Peace , in
and for the said City and Liberties) hath declared, that she
is now with Child, which Child is likely to be born a
Bastard, and to become chargeable to the said Parish of
saint Dionis Back Church aforesaid and that William [..]
Stevens late a Servant of Mr. Rickards of Fenchinch
Street London
is the Father of the saidBastard Child: And
whereas Joseph Richardson< no role > one of the
Overseers of the Poor of the said
Parish of Sr. Dionis Backchurch Hath made Application
unto me, for the immediate Apprehending the said
william Stevens< no role > to Answer to the Premises:

THESE are therefore in his Majesty's Name, to
authorize and require you, and every of you, to appre-
hend the said William Stevens< no role > and
to bring him before me, or some other of his Majesty's
Justices of the Peace , for this City and Liberties, that
he be proceeded against as the Law directs. Given
under my Hand and Seal, this 18th. Day
of July in the Year of our Lord One
Thousand Seven Hundred and SeventyFive Seven .
