Mr. Green moved that Mr. Simpson one of the Masters
of the Workhouse be called in to answer such Questions
as might be put to him and being Seconded the
Question was put that Mr. Simpson be called in and
carried in the affirmative.

Mr. Simpson was thereupon called in and having
answer'd Several questions relative to the Employment
and behaviour of the Poor of this Parish he was
ordered of withdraw.

Mr. Palmer then proposed, that the Question be put
Whether the Poor Should be continued in the House
of Messrs. Robertson and Simposn and being Seconded
After Some Debate, Mr. Duncan moved the previous
Question, which being also Seconded the Same was
put and carried in the Affirmative

Mr. Street then moved that Part of the Poor be
removed from the House of Messrs. Robertson and
Simpson to some other place, and being Seconded by
Mr. Cooper, the question was put and Carried in the
affirmative

The original Question was then put and past in
the negative.

Several Gentlemen being of opinion that the Numbers
were nearly equal, a division was called for, and took
place immediately, when the Numbers were declared to

Removal of Poor

Ordered That Part of the Poor of this Parish be
removed from the House of Messrs. Robertson and< no role >
Simpson to Some other place, and that the Church-
Wardens and Overseers, with Mr. Ayres, Mr. George
Rutt and Mr. Irvine be a Committee for carrying this
Resolution into effect

Resolved unanimously That the Thanks of this Vestry
be given to the Church Wardens for bringing forward
this business.

The Vestry was then Adjourned until another Summons.
