Alderman Abdy's
Gift

At this Meeting the Petitions of
Ann King< no role > and John Iselton< no role > two poor Householders
of this Parish for the late Alderman Abdy's Gift of
Five Pounds were delivered in and Read. And some
doubt was expressed by the Church Wardens whether
Ann King< no role > had gained a Settlement in this Parish,
or could be entitled to the said Gift, not Renting a
House of Ten Pounds P Annum, But it was the opinion
of the Majority Present, that Ann King< no role > came under
the description of a Poor Householder of this Parish
according to the Will of the Donor, and Mr. Jones
Church Warden of Allhallows Lombard Street attending,
and making an Offer to give Ann King< no role > a Certificate
that she should not become Chargeable to this Parish,
if it should appear that Robert King< no role > her late Husband
had been last settled in the said Parish of Allhallows
Lombard Street the Question was put, and the Five
Pounds thereupon ordered to be given to the said Ann
King. The Remainder of the said Alderman's Abdy's
Gift being Fifty Shillings, together with Fifty Shillings
