The Minutes of the last Vestry of the 18th. Septr. 1771
Read and Confirmed.

Then Mr. Church Warden Hudson acquainted the
Gentlemen Present that this Vestry was held pursuant to
public notice given in the Church for the annual Choice of
Parish Officers, and on other affairs.

Church Wardens

Then Mr. Robert Boyd< no role > was put up to serve the Office
of Upper Church Warden for the Year ensuing and Chose.

And Mr. Henry Rutt< no role > was put up to serve the Office of
Under Church Warden for the Year ensuing and Chose.

Collectors of Poor
Rate
Sidesmen

Mr. Edward Colson< no role > and Mr. Thomas Palmer< no role > were
severally put up to serve the Offices of Collectors of the
Poor's Rate and Sidesmen for the year ensuing and Chose.

Organist

Ordered that Mr. John Bennett< no role > be Continued
Organist for the year ensuing.

Organ Tuner< no role >

Mr. George Griffin< no role > was put in Nomination for Tuner
and Cleaner of the Organ, And Mr. Chauntrell acquainted
the Vestry that Mr. John Byfield< no role > was also a Candidate for
the Office, who was an Organ Builder and would do every
thing necessary to keep the Organ in good Condition at the
same Salary of Eight Pounds.

Mr. Byfield< no role > being in waiting was thereupon called in
and made a proposal which was reduced to writing, and
delivered the same to the Church Warden.

Mr. Green who had been Partner with Mr. Byfield
and applied for the said Office was also called in, but
declined giving the Vestry any trouble on his Account.

Some debate was then held on Mr. Byfield's Proposal
but Mr. Griffin, Not having been apprized that there would
be any opposition to his Re-Election, being absent, Mr.
Hebert moved that the Election of an Organ Tuner be
deferred to a future day, and being seconded the Question
was put and Carried in the Affirmative.

Ordered that a Vestry be held for the Election of an
Organ Tuner< no role > , and any other Business that may accur on
