To Determine on A Method
for Election of organist
& to fix upon a Day for
Such Election.

This Vestry was held pursuant to publick notice given in
the Church that purpose, to Consider and determine how,
and in what method to proceed in the Election of an Organist,
in the room of Mr Phillip Hart< no role > deceased, and to fix upon a
Day for such Election.

Order of Vestry of 27th. July
last read.

Ordered that the Order of Vestry made the 27th day
of July last be now read, and the same was Read Accordingly.

Order of Vestry of 12th Decr.
1738 read

Ordered also that an Order of Vestry made the 12th day
of December 1738 relating to the method then agreed upon
for choosing a Lecturer of this Parish be now read and
the same was read Accordinly.

Mr C: Warden Branch delivered
in to the Table a Letter wrote to
Sr. Jos: Hankey< no role > Knt . by Mr Adams< no role >
Recorder of London relating to
Elections.

Then Mr Church Warden Branch delivered in at
the Table a Letter wrote to Sir Joseph Hankey< no role > Knight by Mr Adams the
Recorder of the City of London with his Opinion relating to Elections,
and the Persons who were qualified to Vote, and the Legal methods
of Proceeding on such Elections.

The sd. Letter ordered to be
read & was read accordingly.

Ordered that Mr Recorders Letter be now read, and the
same was read Accordingly.

A Question was proposed wher.
the Election of organist should
be by Ballot or Poll But great
Debates arising the Question
was not putt.

Then a question was proposed and Stated whether the
method of proceeding in the Election of an Organist should be by
Ballot or by Polland Mr John Townsend< no role > moved that the said
Question be now put, and was Seconded, But great Debates arising
the Question was not put on the said motion.

Adjourned.

It was thereupon moved to Adjourn, which passed in the
Affirmative and the Vestry was Adjourned accordingly.
