Examined the Prisons and found them clean

The Calendar of the Prisoners being laid before the
Committee there appeared to be

38 Men
5 Apprentices
43
43 Women
16 Children
102

Received from Mr. Birch the following Recommendations respecting
the Infirmary which were read as follow

The present Infirmary on the Women's side is in every
Respect fit for the reception of Patients and has Room
for Nine Beds; there are a sufficient number of
Bedsteads

That this Infirmary be only occupied by Surgical and
Venereal Patients and that a Preference be given to the latter
as being more likely to suffer by want of proper Care &
necessary Accomodations

That no Patients unless their Complaints absolutely
require it be received into the Infirmary

Patients with the Itch tho' having other Complaints
cannot be in the Infirmary till it is cured.

That venereal or other Patients who are not so-
diseased or out of Health as to require Confinement be
ordered to work.
