Diet of Prisoners-

Ho: Comee. considered.This Committee, in pursuance of a Resolution of the
House Committee, of the 14th. instant, met to consider whether
any, and what, alteration can be made with respect to the
Diet of the Prisoners; and having duly considered the same
and consulted the Steward, and Medical Officers there upon,

Future Diet Resolved, that in future the Prisoners be allowed
the following Diet or Food, in lieu of the Provision they have
heretofore had vizt.

That they be allowed One Quartern Loaf of Bread
perday, for every Seven Persons, to be provided by the Hospital,
independant of the Contract with the Steward.

That on Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays,
they have One pound of Meat, each. without Bone, to be
Boiled to a consistency of ten Ounces:-

That on these days they have three Pints of Table
Beer.

That on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, they
have the Broth from the Meat drest on the preceding day,
with three Ounces of Rice for every Person, which, when
properly boiled, will produce fifteen Ounces at Least; the
quantity of Soup for each Prisoner to be three Pints.

That on the Soup-Days they have One Quart of Table
Beer only.
