farther Considd.The Committee having taken into consideration the order of the General
Court respecting the Action against Samuel Sellon< no role > Snuggs the Contractor
for the alterations of the Mens Prison and Messrs. Biggs and Sarjant
his Sureties

To Commence Actions.Resolved that Mr. John Woodhouse< no role > who officiates as Clerk of this
Hospital during the present vacancy of a Clerk do immediately com-
-mence and prosecute the said Action against the several parties above
named as he shall be advised by Counsel.

Vagrants, Conson ofIt appearing to the Committee that of the Vagrants who were committed
to this Hospital in the course of the year 1795. One of them has been
on 8 different commitments one other on Six five others on three and 16
on two Commitments and that the evil is increasing

And it appearing further to the Committee that Persons of the above
description are by an Act passed in the 17th: Year of George the 2d. liable
on conviction to be transported for any time not exceeding 7 Years

Resolved that it be recommended to the General Court that a repre-
sentation thereof be made to the Court of Aldermen for their consideration
whether it would not be proper to prosecute one or more notorious [..]
offenders of that Class as an example to others.

Sick & Lame Persons
Do.It appearing to the Committee that notwithstanding the representation
of this Committee on the 14th. January 1795. and the resolution of the
Court thereon upon the 29th. of that month that numbers of Sick and
lame Persons utterly in capable of labor continue to be sent to this [..]
Hospital contrary to the intent and Spirit of the Charter

Resolved that the Court be earnestly requested to take some effectual [..]
means to remedy this evil

The Surveyor reported that the plans for Building in that part of
the Hospital intended for the Mens Prison were nearly completed
and that he should lay the same before the Committee on Thursday next

Resolved that the Treasurer be requested to Summon a Special [..]
Committee to receive and consider the same and that the Surveyor
have notice to attend.
