receive Proposal for
doing Works.
Messrs. Poynder recd
Stafford's Proposal
Accepted.This Committee having met to receive Proposals and to
Contract for making sundry alterations and Repairs at the Womens
Prison and Houses adjoining pursuant to several Advertizements
Received a proposal from Messrs.. Poynder and Slatford for
performing the whole of the said works on or before the 30th:
of August next for £695 and the Committee, having waited
two hours beyond the time mentioned in the advertizement and
no other Person attending, accepted of the said proposal with
the Approbation of the Surveyor.
Labourer In Trust to
be employed by the
Surveyor.Upon the Recommendation of the Surveyor ordered that he
be impowered to employ a person as labourer in Trust to [..]
inspect the execution of the said Repairs and to see that the
same be done pursuant to the above Contract.
Place for temporary
Confinement of Women
Prisoners to be prepared.Ordered that the Surveyor do forthwith prepare the
House late in the occupation of Thomas Allam< no role >
for the temporary
confinement of the Women Prisoners making a provision for the
accommodation for the Porter and his Wife during the Repairs and
alterations of the Womens Prison.
