to Mr. Fisher a copy of the foregoing Resolutions signed
by Mr. Chamberlain Clark together with Extracts from the
will of Sir John Cass< no role > and the Decree of the High Court of
Chancery for establishing the same - which said Certificate
and Extracts from the said Will and Decree being now read
this Vestry proceeded to the Choice of a School Master in
Consequence of the said Presentment and Recommendation
And the said Berrington Marsh< no role > and Charles Watson< no role > being
severally put up the Election fell on the said Charles Watson< no role >
who was thereupon declared by the Churchwardens duly
elected School master accordingly - but a Poll being
demanded by Mr. Thomas Lermitte and Mr. John White< no role >
two of the Vestrymen on behalf of the said Mr. Berrington
Marsh
< no role > and by Mr. John Berney< no role > and Mr. Joseph Batho< no role >
two other of the Vestrymen on behalf of Mr. Charles Watson< no role >
the same was granted And it was Resolved that the said
Poll should be taken at Sir John Cass< no role > 's School House in
Church Row that it commence at 2 o Clock this afternoon
and close at six o Clock in the Evening And that unless
either of the Candidates shall during the said Poll decline
further proceeding thereon that the same shall open again
on Saturday the twenty third Instant at ten o Clock in
the forenoon and close at four o Clock in the afternoon for
that Day And open again on Monday the twenty fifth
Instant at ten o Clock in the forenoon and finally close
at four O Clock in the afternoon of that day the Vestry was
then adjourned till two o Clock in the afternoon at Sir
John Cass< no role > 's School House to proceed on the said Poll and the
said Vestry having met pursuant to the said Adjournment
the Poll was immediately proceeded on and at the Close
thereof at six o Clock in the Evening the Churchwardens
having cast up the Numbers three appeared to have Polled
for Mr. Charles Watson< no role > 211 - and for Mr. Berrington
Marsh
< no role > 80 - Majesty for Mr. Watson 131 - Whereupon
the said Mr. Berrington Marsh< no role > and also Mr. Thomas
Lermittee
< no role > and Mr. John White< no role > who had demanded the
Poll on his behalf having come forward and declined
proceeding any further therein the Numbers polled for
