The Last orders of Vestry were Read and Confirmed
At this Vestry Complaint being made by Mr. Churchwarden Wright that
Mr. Fowler the Present overseer for Tower Hill
Precinct was negligent in Paying
in his Quota of the Poors Rate whereby the Affairs of the Workhouse
Suffers
very much for Want thereof
Whereupon it was unanimously agreed that the said Mr. Fowler be
forthwith Summoned to appear before the Alderman or the Lord Mayor to shew
Cause why he refuses to pay his said Quota And the Churchwarden is desired
this Vestry to take such methods to Compell him and the other Overseers to pay
their said Rates as shall be thought proper
Then the Vestry Proceeded to the Choice of a new Committee for the
Workhouse
for the Year Ensuing to Commence from Midsummer next And
it was unanimously agreed that the Churchwardens and overseers of the Poor
for the time being The Deputy and Common Councilmen for the time being
and for Houndsditch Precinct
