The Examination of Eleanor Bowen< no role > Singlewoman
Taken on oath before us two of his Majesties Justices of the
Peace for the sd. County of Middx (she who not is of the quorum) residing in or Next to the
limits of the parish Church of St. Botolph without Aldgate in
the sd. County this 30th day of August 1750 .

This Examinant upon her Oath Saith that about the
Month of April one thousand Seven hundred and forty Nine
Nathaniel Wheelwright< no role > Esqr . who then lodged at the house
of Mrs Mary Masters< no role > in the City of Bath where this
Examinant was then a Servant did prevail with this Examinant
to Suffer him to lye with her at the sd. Mrs Masters's House
and had Carnal knowledge of this Examinants Body Several
times Whereby she Conceived With Child of a Male Bastard
Child of which she was delivered at the house of Mr Gabriel
Beck
< no role > in Angell Alley in ye sd. parish of St. Botolph without
Aldgate on the Sixth day of February last Which said that
Bastard Child hath been Baptised by the Name of Daniel
Wheelwright
< no role > and hath beenbaptisednow is and Still is
likely to be Chargeable to the sd Parish of St. Botolph Without
Aldgate this Examinant being poor and Not able to provide
the Same And this Examinant farther Saith that the sd. Nathaniel
Wheelwright
< no role > is the true and only father of ye sd. Male Bastard
Child And that this Examination is Voluntary and that she
hath not been forced or Compelled to be examined by any person or
persons whomsoever.
