Continued, Friday Novr. 29th. 1799 .

last were read and confirmed, whereby it appeared;

That the Committee had agreed to conclude the Bargain
for the erection of the proposed Drug Mill at their nest
Meeting.

Prison Committee
Minutes of ordered
to be obliterated


The Minutes of the Prison Committee of the 22d. of
August, and the 11th. September last, were read; and it appearing
to the Court that there had not been sufficient number of
Governors present at those Meetings to make a quorum.,
the Minutes were ordered to be obliterated.

The Minutes of the Special Prison Committee, of the
19th. of November, last were read; whereby it appeared;

That the Committee on a perusal of the Case laid
before the Recorder and Common Sergeant, and their
Opinions thereon, that Persons Committed to the Prison,
of this Hospital, under the Lottery Acts, cannot legally
be employed in the usual hard labour of the House:
The Committee having therefore reason to doubt
of the legality of Commitments to this House of Persons
of that description, recommended it to the Court to
inform the Court of Aldermen thereof, and to request
them to take the same into their consideration.

Resolved that the Consideration of the above Minutes
be adjourned.

The Minutes of the Bethlem Committee, of the
following days, were read and confirmed; whereby it appeared;

Wednesday, Septr. 27th..

That the Committee had Contracted for Meat for Six
Months, at 3s..2d. Per Stone.

And had Ordered two Carpets to be provided for the use
of the Porter and Matron.

And that the Poors Boxes were Opened which contained
£9..6..1½.

Friday, Novr. 1st.

That the Committee had resolved that it be recommended
to the General Court, that a Gratuity of £50 be paid to
Mr.
