Continued, Friday, 31st, May 1799 .

But the previous Question being put, that the above
Question be now put, it passed in the Negative, and the
main Question was therefore not put.

It was then Moved and Seconded;

That a Select Committee be appointed for three Years,
with an allowance of expenditure, not exceeding
£500 a Year; And that the said Committee consist of the
present Members of the Prison Committee, together
with Six other Governors, with authority to carry into
effect so much of the Report, as shall appear to them
to be practicable and expedient.

And on the Question being put, it passed in the Negative.

The following Motion was then proposed, and Seconded
and having been put, It was Resolved;

Reference to the
House Commee.


That it be referred to the House Committee, to consider
whether any, and which, of the present, Artsmasters, are
in their Opinion, proper and competent Officers for the Purpose
of the Charity; And also, what other Arts or Occupations,
giving employment to a Sufficient Number of Apprentices,
and most requisite in the City of London , it may be proper
to introduce; And that the said Committee do also consider
and prepare a System of Regulations, as well for the
Admission, as the well ordering, good Government, and
Improvement of the Apprentices, and Report the same to
the Court.

Ordered that Thomas Rodbard< no role > , late Apprentice
to John Harris< no role > be inquired after for Mr. Fowke's Gift

And the Court was Adjourned.
