Wapping Estate Passage binding
for Raffing next to King Edward
Street to be ordered


Upon Reading the humble Petition of the
Inhabitants residing at near or about King Edward
Stairs Wapping in the Words following." That your
Petitioners have heard it is your Intention to Build over the
Passage leading from Wapping Street to King Edward Stairs
aforesaidThat your Petitioners conceive if the same is
Built over it will afford a retreat to disorderly Persons in the
Night time that many bad Accidents may happen through
it and that in fact it will prove a Nuisance and be very
disagreeable to all Neighbourhood And Praying that
the Passage to the said Stairs May remain open in the manner
it was before the late Fire This Court having duly
