his Petition not to be
complied with

Hospital and to Report their Opinion thereon This Committee
having duly weighed and considered the said Petition and it not
appearing to this Committee that there is any Fund belonging to this
Hospital particularly applicable to Cases of this kind are of Opinion
not to Grant the said William Grinsell< no role > the Relief Prayed by his can
Petition. All which is nevertheless Submitted to the Judgment of the
Court."This Court having duly weighed and considered the said
Report doth confirm the same.

for 12 Months

Upon Reading the Humble Petition of Joseph Read< no role > of the
Parish of Saint Stephen Coleman Street in behalf of his Son Joseph< no role >
Nine Years of Age in the words and figures following Viz."That
at the Age of Four Years and an half he was afflicted with the
small Pax the consequence of which, it Settled in this Brain ever Since
but more so within these twelve Months. He is very mischievous
will not wear any Cloths, and fearfull will be more Outrageous as
he gathers Strength, these circumstances render me very unhappy
for as I see no prospect of his reason returning, and (what Increase
my Affliction) am totally Incapable of Providing for him without the
kind Assistance of this worthy Charity else must remain a Barthen to
me all the Days of my Life, having at this time a wife and three Children
And your Petitioner will ever pray Etc". This Court having duly
weighed and considered th said Petition doth order hat the said
Joseph Read< no role > Junr. be Admitted a Patient in Bethlem Hospital for
12 Months upon Producing a Certificate of his Settlement and giving
the usual Security.

out of Mr. Locks.


Edward Umfreville< no role > Esqr . and Mr. Richard Crowther< no role >
two of the governors reported that in Pursuance of an Order of
Court of the 21st. of November last, they had made Inquiry and
found that Charles West< no role > late Apprentice to Joseph Sharp< no role > was
set up for himself in his Trade and has the Character of a
diligent and Sober Man It is Ordered that the Steward
do pay the said Charles West< no role > Ten Pounds out of Mr. Locks Gift
to be allowed him in his next Account.

Mr. Deputy Fouch one of the governors reported that in
Pursuance of an Order of Court of the 21st. of November last he
