Continued Thursday 13th. Novr. 1755

Apprentices duly

1st.That all the Apprentices shall wear the Cloaths given 'em by this
Hospital Viz. Blew Doublets, Wastcoates & Trowsers, white hats, bonds and
Green stockings. And that Badges Numbred shall be put on the Right breast
of their Doublets and the left Breast of their Wastcoates, And if any of em
shall Presume to take off the Badge or Cut, Alter or Spoil any of their
Apparel or Wear any other Cloaths they shall be Comitted to the Block
till next Court.

2dThat no Apprentice shall go out without Leave of his Master or
MistressOr then Stay out after 9 o Clock at Night.

3dEvery Apprentice who shall be in Riot or lay out a Night without
leaveshall be Corrected Strip't & Turn'd out of the HospitalAnd the
like if he runs away and is retaken

4thThat no Apprentice who his time is Expir'd shall take away any of
the Hospital Cloathing Except Linnen but shall leave all the rest he has
with the StewardAnd that the Comittee may give him such Cloaths in
lieu as they shall think proper According as he has behaved himself during
his Apprenticeship not Exceeding the Value of £4.

And that Instructions According to the Order of Court 18th May 1708
be Printed and deliver'd to every Apprentices on Sealing his Indenture

1stThat both the Gates and the Wicket shall be Lock's at
9 o Clock at Night in Summer and WinterAnd the Portersman
shall Attend at the Great Gate from that time till 11 o'Clock
when the Watchman is to come upon Duty & Attend there till 5. o Clock
in the Morning in Summer and 7 in Winter.

2dThat the Beadles or Portersman shall not let any Apprentice out on
Sundays without a Note in Writing from his Master or Mistress with
the reasons to be laid before every next Comittee

3dThat one of the Beadles shall Stand at the Chappel door
on Sunday with a List of the Names of all the Artsmasters &
their respective Apprentices and mark those who are Absent
and lay before every Comittee an Account thereof and the
Names of any who shall be have indecently thereAnd also
an Account of all the Apprentices who stay out after 9 at Night
or shall be out on Holydays when the Gates are to be kept Lock't &
the Names of every Apprentice whom they shall hear Swearing or Cursing

Sum of this Ordr. dd to each of
the Beadles & Portersman

4thThat the Beadles shall not on any Pretence whatsoever
take any Money or Note of the Apprentices or their Friends on
their Binding being made free Or receiveing any part of
Mr. Locks or Mr. Fowkes Gift.
