This Court being informed that the Number of Governors of these Hospitals
is too great Doth Order that no more Governors be nominated for 12 Months

Ordered that it be referred to the Grand Comittee of Bethlem Hospital
to consider the fees & charges taken on the admission of a Patient into that Hospital
& to report their Opinion to the Court.

a dinner as their been Venue for the President Treasurer and Governors to dine
together according to antient Custom and in case any of the Stewards elected decline or
refuse the same the Clerk is to supply the number in Course.

Upon reading the humble Petition of Robert Nelson< no role > Weaver Settingforth
That he served his Apprenticeship in this Hospital to Mr Benjamin Thatcher< no role > by
Indre dated the 18 day of October 1726 and by an Order of Court of the 20 day of
December 1733 he was on the 22d. day of January 1733 made free of this City & is
set up for himself in his said Tradeat Mr. Parsleys two doors on this side the
Cradle in little George Brick lane Spittlefields And Mr. Treasurer
reporting to this Court that the Comittee of this house on the first day of February
last respected the book kept of Apprentices behaviour & found no Complaint against them
It is Ordered that Mr. Deputy Wiley Mr. Richard Bridgman< no role > and Mr. John
Bridge
< no role > three of the Governors of these Hospitals or any two of them be desired to enquire
whether the said Robert Nelson< no role > be set up in his said Trade and of his hopefullness
therein and to make their Report to the next Court.

At this Court Samuel Warbruck< no role > was Ordered to be made free of this
City having served his Apprenticeship in this Hospital part to Thomas Sergeant< no role > late
an Artsmasters of this Hospital and the remainder to James Lipscomb< no role > one of the
Artsmasters by Indenture dated 4 day of February 1722/3

Ordered that it be referred to the Comittee of this house to consider of a
Method to regulate the behaviour of the Apprentices and to report their Opinion therein
to the Court.

Upon reading the humble Petition of John Wheeler< no role > Surgeon Settingforth
That he hath been near Twenty years Surgeon of these Hospitals and that the
business of them in respect to Surgery is greatly augmented in his time and lately
more by the Addition of the Incurables and praying that his Son who served his
Apprenticeship to him in these Hospitals and hath ever since attended the Patients
in the said Hospitals with the Petitioner may be admitted to be his Assistant he being
a liveryman of the City of London and an examined Surgeon according to Law and not
desiring any Salary for the same It is Ordered that the consideration thereof be
deferred to the next Court and that notice be inserted in the Ticketts to consider of
Mr Wheeler the Surgeons Petition that his Son may be his Assistant.
