And this Committee are of opinion That the friends of the Patients beat liberty to provide
them with such Apparell as they shall want from time to time during their Continuance in the said
Hospital but if their friends shall neglect so to do Then the Steward shall supply the same according
to the said Samples by order of the Treasurer, Physitian or Surgeon of the said Hospital for
the time beingAnd that instead of the prices which have been usually taken by the
Stewards for such Clothing the following prices and no more be paid for the same Vizt:

Clothing for Menthe former prices were

For a Coat- 12.6- 14 -
a pair of Breeches - 8 -- 9 - 6
a Shirt- 4 -- 4 -
a pair of Shoes- 4 -- 4 -
a pair of Stockings- 2 -- 2 -
a Cap- 1 -- 1 -

For a Bayes Gown- 11 -- 12 -

All which nevertheless is submitted to the Judgment of the Court And it is ordered that this
opinion be reported to the next CourtIt was moved and the Question was put that the said
Report be recommitted which pass'd in the negative and then it was moved and the Question was
put that the said Report be confirmed which passd in the Affirmative And this Court Doth
accordingly confirm the said Report.

This Court being cheifly called for the Election of a Steward of Bethlem Hospital
in the room of Mr. Thomas Weston< no role > deceased the several humble Petitions of Christopher
Blackett
< no role > and William Byrch< no role > were read and they being severally put in nomination The
Right Worshipfull Humphry Parsons< no role > Esqr . Alderman President of these Hospitals was
pleased to declare that in his opinion the plurality of hands were for the said William
Byrch
< no role > whereupon several of the Governors demanding a Poll on behalf of Mr. Blacket
it was granted And it was desired that such of the Governors as were for the said Mr.
Blacket shou'd with draw into the Dining Room and such of the Governors as were for the
said Mr. Byrch shoud continue in the Court Rooms of the said Hospital which being done
Tellers were appointed to wit Richard Lockwood< no role > Esqr . Mr. Robert Fotherby< no role > Mr. Deputy
Brewis and John Elderton< no role > Esqr . who having taken an Account of the several numbers and
being returned did report to this Court that the number of Governors that went out for the
said Mr. Blacket was 78 and the number that staid in for the said Mr. Byrch was
114 Whereupon it is Ordered that the said Mr. Byrch be admitted Steward
of the said Hospital untill the next Election day and that he shall from Lady day next
have receive and enjoy the Salary and profits thereto belonging as the said Mr. Thomas
Weston
< no role > had and enjoyed the same and also the Rooms and Chambers wherein the said
Mr. Weston lived the said William Byrch giving Security as usual.
