5th Decemr. 1718.

as particularly as they can by what meanes the said apprentices go out
of Bridewell the fifth of Novemr. instant and to punish all or any
of the said apprentices whom they Shall find to be Guilty by Suspencon
totally discharging them from the house, or by Correction as they
Shall think fitt and this Court being of Opinion that the said
Artsmasters have been remiss and negligent in their Duty and that
if they had observed the repeated Orders of the Governor . in all
probability no disorders would have happened Doth therefore
Recomend it to the said Governor s to Inquire into the Conduct and
behaviour of the said Artsmasters and to punish Such of them as
they Shall find to have been negligent or deficient in their Duty
either by Suspencon or discharge from the house as they Shall
See Cause and Doth Referr ye Consideration of the said
Report to ye said president and Governor s to do therein as they
Shall See most ConvenientWhereupon It is
Ordered by this Court that it be Referred to ye Comee of
this house to Reconsider ye whole matter and to Report
their Opinion to this Court

A motion being made That The Rt. Worshippll . sr . William Withers< no role >
knt . and Alderman and president of these hospitals, be desired to Sit for
his Picture, to be put up in the great hall of this hospital, where there
are the pictures of three former presidents, And that the Same may be
drawn at ye hospital Charge, as Some acknowledgmt. to remain to
Posterity, of the high Esteem the Governors have for his person. and
then Gratefull Sense of his eminent care and paines for the Service of these hospitals
during, the time he has done them the honor to be their president
besides his Goverons donation of the Marble Pavement and Iron
Gates of the Chappel; his Worship desired that the Question might
not be putt But it being unanimously insisted upon, he was pleased
to Say Since the Governors thought fitt give his picture a place in the
hospital It Should be done without any expence to the house
