Treasr. where a Henn


The future And this Comee are of Opinion that the Minister and
Preacher of this Hospital ought to be obliged to a constant residence and not
to be absent above a Month together without lease of the Court And
Whereas it hath been often mentioned in this Comee and thought reasonable
by many other of the Governor s. That the Treasurer of this Hospital for the
time being who it by his Office frequently obliged to attend here should
have a house in this Hospital as it is the Custome of all the other hosptll
of this City This Comee care of Opinion that the roomes lately
held by Mr. Dean Atterbury preacher of this hospital & now vacant by
his Resignation are the most Convenient to be applyed for that purpose
if the Treasurer pleases especially there being severall other appartmts
now empty in this Hospital for the accomodation of a preacher This
Court having duely weighed and considered the said Report doth Confirme
the same

these hospitals acquainting this Court that Complaint had been made
to him agt. Nathanll. Whittamore< no role > who att the last Court was Elected to be
an artsmar . of their Hospital in the room of William Greaves< no role > who lately
resigned his place For that the said Nathanll. Whittmore< no role > had
incoderately beaten & abused Edmund Newton< no role > one of the said William
Greaves
< no role > 's Apprentices who were ordered to be turned over to the said
Nath: Whittimore< no role > It is Ordered that it be referred to the Comee
of this Hospital to examine into the cause of the said Complaint and to
Report their Opinion therein to this Court

This Court being Cheifely called for the Election of a Minister
Preacher of this Hospital and precinct in the room of Dr. Francis
Atterbury Dean of Christ Church who lately resigned the sd. place And
the statute of the 31st. Eliz: Chapter the 6th. entitled an Act agt.
abuses in electing of Scholars and Presentation to Benefices as also
Severall Orderr of this Court touching the duty of the Minister being
read-and the several humble Petitions of Samuel Holcomb< no role > Master
of Arts Thomas Shepheard< no role > Mor. of Arts . Gibbon Sutton< no role > , Master of Arts
Edward Huiton< no role > Master of Arts and Thomas Yalden< no role > Doctor in Divinity
for one of them to be elected Minister in the room of the said Dean
of Christ Church being read And they being Severally putt into nominacon
for the same the plurality of hands were for Mr. Sutton Mr. Huiton &
Doctor Yalden who being again putt into nomination the plurality of hands
then appeared to be for Mr. Hinton and Dr Yalden who being again
putt into Nomination The Rt Worshippll sr . Wm. Witters< no role > knt
& aldran was pleased to declare his Opinion that the plurality of
