have been found for recovery of the moneys payable
by the sd Bond but Mr. Ashton an Attorney haveing lately
acquainted Mr. Trear Cass that he beleived he could find
a way to gett Some money paid thereon Mr Trear desired
him to use his endeavoure for that purpose and pmised
him a Gratuity for his trouble in case any money Shoud
be reced and Mr Wilcox endorsed the Bond & consented
that Mr Ashton Should proceed therein accordingly And
Mr Wilcox this day attending the Court was called in
and asked what Sume wou'd content him out of the
money that Shou'd be gott in upon the sd Bond to which
he answered that if this Court will please to returne
him £100, out of the sd. money he would thankfully
accept the same and be satisfied therewith and that the remainder shoud be apply'd to the use of this hospt [..] Whereupon
it is ordered by this Court that it be referred to Mr
Trears Cass to make Such an Agreemt. for the moneys
payable by the sd. bond and to allow Mr. Ashton Such a
gratuity as he shall think fitt And it is further
Ordered that the Sume of £100, be returned unto
the sd. Mr. Wilcox out of the moneys that shall be
reced upon the said Bond and that the remainder be
applyed to the use and benefitt of the sd Hospital of
Bridewell as the free Gift of the sd. Mr Wilcox

suspended from his office of Porter of this hospital
upon the report of the Gentleman of the Comee of this
house that the Petr had been guilty of Several neglects in
the performance of his sd Office but that what Omissions
