Also upon reading the humble Petition of Thomas
Gurney
< no role > This name instance is in set 2951. setting forth That he holds a Capital Messuage
called Cottington and Several parcells of Land in the
parishes of Northburne and Shouldon in the County
of Kent belonging to the Hospital of Bethlem by Lease
for Eleaven yeares from Michmas 1699 which Expires
at Michas next at the yearly rent of Two hundred pounds
And that he did also hold some Marsh Land at Walmer
in the sd County belonging to the sd Hospital by a Lease
which Expired att Michas 1703. under the yearly rent
of Thirty five pounds Since which he has held the same
Lands at the Same rent as Tent. at Will and praying
a New Lease of all the sd. premisses for One & Twenty
yeares under the same rent he now payes and the usual
Covenants contained in the Leases from the sd Hospital, to
their Tenants It is Ordered by this Court That it
be referred to the Comittee of this house to consider of
the said Petition & to report to this Court what they
think proper to be done therein
