John Awdry proceedingsdefend This name instance is in set 12661151. and Mary Awdry proceedingsdefend This name instance is in set 14271270. , of the Parish of St. Giles in the Fields , were indicted, he for breaking the House of Thomas Fisher proceedingsvictim on the 13th of October last, in the Night-time, and stealing thence 6 Firkins of Butter, 300 Weight of Cheese, and 30 lib. of Bacon , and she for receiving the same Goods, knowing them to be stoln . Mr. Fisher swore his Shop was broke open, and his Goods gone; and that John Awdry being in Custody own'd the Robbery and Burglary; and Samuel Awdry < no role > This name instance is in set 1427. swore, That he saw his Brother bring some Firkins of Butter to his Mother, which she would have turn'd out again; but that he swore he would kill her if she did not take them in. There were several other Witnesses who fix'd strong Circumstances upon him, but none that his Mother knew them to be stoln; whereupon he was found Guilty of the Burglary, and she acquitted .
