The joint and several Information of John
Scandrett of Fetter Lane , London, Victualler , and James
Fowler of Church Yard Alley , Felder Lane, London,
Chimney Sweeper Who being on Oath severally say And
First the said John Scandrett< no role > for himself saith that on
Wednesday last about Eleven O'Clock in the Forenoon, the
Prisoner now under Examination, Mary Wills< no role > This name instance is in set 3206. , carried and
ordered a Pint of Purl as for herself, and afterwards
directed three Pints of Purl to be made for the other
Informant FowlerInformant delivered the Purl in
a quart and a pint Pet to the Prisoner Mary, Wills,
who paid eight Pence to Informantthe Prisoner
was seen afterwards brought to Informant's House< no role > by
James Fowler< no role > , who acquainted him, he had stopt her
on suspicion of stealing a quart and pint Pet in her
Possession Says the quart and pint, pewter Pots
now produced are this Informant's Property, the same
he delivered to the Prisoner Wills in manner aforesaid,
and of the Value of one Shilling and Six Pence
And the said James Fowler< no role > for himself saith, he
did not send for the three Pints of Purl obtained
in his Name by the Prisoner Mary Wills< no role > This name instance is in set 3206.
Says, that being told by a Lodger that a Woman was
throwing away Purl into the Court, he went out
and saw the Prisoner Wills running along the
Court Informant Followed and stopt her in Neville's
Court Fetter Lane when he Found the quart and pint pewter
Pets owned by Mr Scandret concealed under her
Cloakthe Prisoner denied at First having any
Pots, and when he Found them, she entreated to
be set at Liberty, but was Secured, and taken to
the Compter.
