Ford
< no role > an Infant aged about four Months on her Oath says that
Elizabeth Ford< no role > Singlewoman Came to Lodge with her as a
Married Woman by the Name of Elizabeth Barnes< no role > and who
about a fortnight ago was taken ill of the small Pox and
afterwards died But before her Death this Examinant
having some Suspition that she was not Married asked
her several Questions with regard there to and in Order
that the Infant might be taken care of and the said Elizth.
Barnes
< no role > Acknowledged that she never was Married that
her Name was Ford and that she had lived as a hired
Yearly Servant with one Mrs. Butler in the Parish of Ewell
in the County of Surry for several Years at the Yearly
Wages of Six Pounds or upwards to the best of her Remem-
-brance and that after she left her Mistress Service she
never gained any other Subsequent Settlement and
this Examinant further says that the said Elizth. Ford< no role > also
told her that her said Child was Born in Store Street
Hospital in the Parish of Saint Pancras in the County of
Middlesex and that the Father of the said Child was one
John Barnes< no role > at Ewell afsd in the said County of Surry
who was run away and what was become of him she did
not know but that he the said John Barnes< no role > was the only [..]
