Informations of Witnesses
taken this 30 Novr. 1797 at the
House of Mathvas Laws< no role > the Sign of the Albermarle Arms
in South Street parish of St. Geo: Hanover Square touching
Death of Ann Barrett< no role >
James Boundam< no role > Servt to Mr Laws
being sworn saith that Yesterday Morng near 8 o'Clock
the Decd was called up by Mr Laws. he went into the
Kitchen to wash himself & as he was coming out
at 8 o'Clock he saw the deced hanging by a Cord
one end about her own neck & the other
End tied into an Iron Nail.on seeing he gave
immediate Notice. she was then cut down
he went to Bed the night before about 11 o'Clock.
she was that Eveng very merry & jovial & appeared
as she usually did. he has no reason to believe
that she was hung by any other than herself

Sarah Boys a lodger at the House beingsworn
Saith she has been sevl. Months. she has
frequently said to this Dept that her Head
& Teeth were so bad that she would forgive
any person who would knoock her Brains
out [..] she had no peace. She saw the
Deced between 10 & 11 o'Clock the Night
before she was then sitting in the Tap

Matt Lawe< no role > being sworn saith he called the Decd
yesterday Morning about 8 o'Clock but usually
she rose about 7 o'Clock. She has lived
with this dept. about 5 Months. he found
