Informations of Witnesses take
this 13 day of August 1795
at the Dwelling House of John Woolbridge< no role > the Sign of
of the three Compasses Upper Mount Street in the
Parish of St. George Hanover Square one view of the
Body James Hobcroft< no role > then & there lying dead .
George Cowling< no role > lodges at Mr Quinn in Swallow
being sworn deposeth & saith that on Tuesday Evening last
he met the Deced & they agreed to go into the
Serpentine to bath they accordingly went in & the
deced swam about a great deal & afterwards he
across the River as he was returning back
he hallowed out & went to the follow shore again
but he went down again did not rise again
this Dept Saith that he was never seen till
Yesterday when he was taken out this [..]
saith that nobody was near him bathing at the [..]
same time he has he doubt but that
he was accidentally drowned [..]
[..]

Verdict
accidentally drowne.
