Nathaniel Nest< no role > of Worford in Herts being sworn
deposeth that about ½ past 10 last last Night
Mr. Church a Surgeon of Worford and this deponent
having been out to spent the Evening returned to the
Red Lion Inn Cockspur Street (where they always
slept when in Town) and as soon as they came
into the Inn the Landlord said Mr. Church pray come
into the Parlour and give your Assistance for some
people have just brought a maninto thehere who
appears to be dead, and several Persons who had
just brought the deceased into the Parlour were
supporting him, and Mr. Church immediately
open'd a Vein in his right Arm put very little
blood issued forth and Mr. Church then declared
he was a dead man and soon afterwards two other
gentleman of the Faculty examined the deceased and
taken divers [..] on his Body Clockwise declared him take a dead man, this Deponent
said that a Post boy who was in Company with the
deceased informed him that they and [..] other had
carried some Company in several Carriages from
Richmond to Shooters Hill and in returning from
thence to London the deceased fell off his Chaise Horse
and was put into the Chaise and brought to
then said Rid him Inn, that the Company had been
to partake of a Wedding dinner at Shooters Hill
and that the Coachmen Post boys & Servants had
had 7 bottles of Wine besides porter amongst then
