of the Weather he must be taken care of - Ashdon said
they were going off their Duly now,and the Deceased should
not come into the Watch House, but he might be put into
the Hole and the Door should he left open - and Ashdon
and Knight and Some other of the Patroles carried the Deced
out of the Watch House, and the Deceased was put in the
HoleAt half after Six o'Clock the Deponent went from
the Watch House and looked in at the Hole, and asked the
Deceased how he did, the Deceased said he was very cold
Deponent went to the Watch House at Twelve o'Clock the
samenextDay, to open the Watch House for the Watchmen to
Come to receive their Wages, and in going to the Watch House
he Looked in the Hole and found that the Deceased was
gone out and he Supposed he had gone away himself
Deponent says that when the Deceased was brought into
the Watch House at Five o'Clock, some very warm words
and alterestions passed between Ashdon the Bedel and
Knight the Patrole about the Deceased Ashdon insisting
the Deceased should not stay there, and Knight the Patrole
contending for the Deceased remaining in the Watch House

William Knight< no role > on of the Patroles of St. Margaret
Westminster on his Oaths saith That on Saturday last
the 3d. day of January Instant about Five o'Clock in
the Morning he came to the Watch House with the other
Patroles as they were then about going off Duly, and Saw
the Deceased lying on his right side on the Ground nearby
opposite the Watch House Door on the outside the Watch House Door
was shutDeponent and the other Patroles Knocked
at the Door and were lot in Ashdon the Bedel and
Skiving the Warder were there onlyDeponent said
Mr. Ashdon here is a Poor distressed Man lot him come in
Mr. Ashdon said he should not come in, had be Damn'd
if any Patrole or Watchman should bring him in there
and flew to the Door to prevent his being brought in
in which the Deponent said Hell Dye, to which
Ashdon replied let him Dye and be Damned, and
I will be answerableDeponent and the other Patroles
then argued with Ashdon that the Deceased might he
taken in and very warm words mose between the
Deponent and Ashdon, and Ashdon took the Deponent
by the Collar jostling him very much about Watch House
Saying he would turn him out, the Deponent resisted
