Informations taken this Twenty fourth
day of July 1782 at the Parish of
St. Margaret within the Liberty of
Westmr . in the County of Midsex
upon an Inquisition touching the death
of Edward Steele< no role > lying dead in the said
Parish Liberty and County.

William Blake< no role > of Sheerness Laborer on
his Oath saith That Edward Steele< no role > the Deced
was at Work as a Bricklayer at Sheerness
That the Deced was taken ill last Saturday
and appeared to be disordered in his Mind
and that Dr. Smith ordered the Deced
to be taken to Mr. Grove the Bricklayer
in order to be put into a Hospital
Says that this Morning at four o'Clock
the Deced came in a Boat from Sheerness
Saml. Wright< no role > , another Man and this
Dept. come with the Deced Landed at
Back wall, come in a Stage Coach from thence
to Leaden hall Street and in a Hackney
Coach afterwards, Says that the Deced
Spoke several times in the Coach, and
the last time at Charring Cross, when the
Deced's Colour Altered; and Deced appeared
to be worse, Says that the Coach stopped at
Mr. Grove's House in Mill Bank [..] Street , That
Saml. Wright carried a Letter to Mr. Grove in
the house, and returned to the Coach on
about five Minutes, and that the Deced.
aspired in the Coach, in the same without speaking.
and Says that he believes the Deced died a
natural Death, and that he reced no hurt
or violence from any Person to Dept. knowledge
