Fire, That she called up her Fellow Servant and
asked King what was burning, to which she made
no Answer, Says that she went for a Coach and when
she returned Margaret King< no role > told her (as she had
declared before to her Fellow Servant) That she had
been brought to Bed of a dead Child and begged they
would take no Notice of it and that the Child was
in a Box up Stairs [..] and that it was dead born,
says that KingThat she had been out the Bay before to get a Lodging, & that she did notinland [..] thing to the Child of that [..] alive the Coach to Putney and returned
with the Fairrhy to Town on Tuesday (Decr. 3d.) when
Mr. Hudson was acquainted therewith, and the
Child was found in King's Room but Dept. did not
see it.

Mary Cowlin< no role > Cook to Mr. Hudson on her Oath saith
that she has lived there about four Years, That
she did not suspect that Margaret King< no role > the
Nursery Maid was with Child, That last Sunday
Morning Hannah Carnall told Dept. That she smelt
something burning in the Nursery Fire, Says that
she went up and saw some Flashy Substance which
has fellow Servant took out of the Fire, but King
did not tel them what it was, Says that King soon
come down Stairs and told Dept. that she had been
delivered of a dead Child, and that it was dead born
and that the Child was upStairs in a Box, That she
had been out on Saturday to take a Lodging, and that she had
spoke to a Woman to Nurse it, if it had been
alive, Says that King than went away in a
Coach to Putney to the Family. Says that she did
not hear any Noise in Kings & Room on Saturday
Night.

Green Grocer on her Oath saith, That on Saturday
last in the Afternoon Dept. was going home and
at the corner of Panton Street a Woman well
dressedcalledbeckoned toyouher saying that she wonted
a Lodging, to which Dept. answered that she
had one in a Cellar but thought it not good
enough for her, the Woman however went
with Dept. into the Cellar saying that she was
in distress for a Lodging, that she lived in
a Gentleman 'sLodgingFamily, and that she would
be received if it was known, That she was
with Child and would not mind giving
Twenty Pounds to keep it secret, That she
enquired for a Midwife, and that one was
fitched, who said that the Woman was not
in Labour, And says that the Woman
agreed that Depts. Daughter should Nurse her
Child, Says that the Woman declared that
the Man who lay in the next Room to her
was the Father of the Child, Says that the
Woman staid there about three Years and
then went away.
