Thomas Moss< no role > a Lodger at Mr. Mattison on his
Oath saith, That on Wednesday last (Augt. 20)
the Deced and David Coyder< no role > come to Depts.
Lodging, and agreed to Lodgetherein the
same House, that they both slept there that
Night and Deced was out Yesterday Morning
with Dept. and Dined with him That about
Five o'Clock in the Afternoon Deced went
out, and returned in about half an hour
Says that the Deced looked very wild and
distracted, Saying that he had talked Treaso [..]
against the King and that all the Watchmen
with their Lanthorn were after him
That he staid in Depts. Room until about
half hour after Nine o'Clock and then went
unto his own Room, Saying that he would
go to Tower Hill the next Mroning for Cash,
Says that between Ten & Eleven o Clock
Dept. being in Bed asleep, was awaked
by Mr. Dresses or crying out that the Man
was cutting his Throat, Up which he got
up and went into Deced's Room, where
he saw the Deced upon the floor Bleeding
from Wound in his Throat, a great deal
at Blood being upn the Floor, Says that
as Apothecaryyearwas fetched who tied a Cloth
around the Deced's Throat, and Deced died
very soon after, Says that he believes the
wound to be the cause of Deced's death
and that he gave it to himself And this
Dept. further says tha the Deced by his
Coversation & Behaviour Appeared to Dept.
to be Disordered in his Mind
