Melancholy and disturbed in his Mind, That
Major Watson talked to him then about India
Affairs but Deced would searce make him
any Answer, and seemed to be very low spirited
and Dept. says that he was do the Evening before
And says that the Deced has lately appeared to be
much Troubled in his Mind, and Dept. says
that she believes the Deced was yesterday Morning
Disordered in his Mind.

Joshua Holdsworth< no role > of Queen Street Westmr. Apothecary
on his Oath saith that yesterday about four o'Clock
in the Afternoon Mr. Touchet's Servant came to
Dept. desiring him to come immediately to his Mistress
upon which he went to the Deced's House and
Mrs. Touchet desired him to go into the Deced's
Bedchamber, Says that he followed a Servant in,
and there saw the Deced lying upon the Floor,
Says that he felt the Deced's Hands which were
decedCold and Dept. observed no Signs of life in him
but fetched Mr. Harris a Surgeon there Says -
that he then observed the Cord about the Neck
of the Decd, who appeared to Dept, to have been
dead sometime. and the other part of the Cord
about the Bed Post.

Peter Perceval< no role > Footman to the Deced on his
Oath saith That yesterday a little before twelve
o'Clock at noon, he saw the Deced, go up Stairs
and heard him open his Bedchamber Door on the
First Floor, That a little before four o'Clock that

Afternoon Mrs. Touchet came home, and soon after
went up Stairs, and Dept. heard her attempt to open
the Bedchamber Door, and immediately called Mrs.
Taylor down, and they both went round to the
other Door of the Bedchamber which was opened
and Mrs. Touchet immediately sereamed out, and
he heard a Noise of something falling heavily upon
the Floor, and Mrs. Touchet ordered Dept. to fetch
a Doctor, and he immediately fetched Mr. Holdsworth
who followed Dept. into the Bedchamber, where
he saw the Deced lying upon the Floor with a piece of Cord
about his Neck, appearing to be dead, and Dept.
believes that the Deced hanged himself, And
Dept. says, That from the looks and behaviour of
the Deced he verily believes thatforhe was at
times during the fortnight last past Disordered
in his Senses.
