AT the General Quarter Sessions of the Peace of our Sove-
reign Lord the King, held at the Shirehall in Shrewsbury ,
in and for the County of Salop , on Tuesday in the Week next
after the Close of Easter, (to wit) the second Day of April,
in the thirty-ninth Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord
George the Third, by the Grace of God of Great Britain,
France and Ireland King, Defender of the Faith, and so forth,
and in the Year of our Lord one thousand, seven hundred, and
ninety-nine: Before Sir Corbet Corbet< no role > , Bart . and John Kynaston
Powell,
< no role > Esq . and others their companions, his Majesty's Justices
assigned to keep the Peace in the County aforesaid, and also to
hear and determine divers Felonies, Trespasses, and other Misde-
meanors in the same County done and [..]

THE Justices assembled at this General Quarter Sessions of the Peace have,
(pursuant to the Statutes made in the third and fourth Years of the Reign of their
late Majesties King William and Queen Mary, and the twenty-first Year of the
Reign of his late Majesty King George the Second) assessed and rated the Price of
all Land-Carriage of Goods whatsoever, (except Money, Plate or Jewels) that shall
be brought from London to any Place or Places within this Jurisdiction, by any
common Waggoner or Carrier, at the Rates and Prices following, viz.

For the Carriage of every Hundred Weight, containing 112lb. from
henceforth to the first day of November next
0 8 0

And from the said first day of November, to the Easter Sessions following 0 9 0

And so in Proportion for a greater or less Quantity, (except small Parcels under
twelve Pounds Weight, and for those one Shilling each) and no more. And it is
ordered by this Court, that these Rates be certified immediately after this Sessions,
by the Clerk of the Peace for this County, to the Lord Mayor of the City of
London; and also to the respective Clerks of the Peace for the Counties of Mid-
dlesex and Surry, and City and Liberty of Westminster ; and likewise be certified to
the several Mayors and other Chief Officers of each respective Market Town in this
Jurisdiction, and be affixed up in some Public Places in every such Market Town,
to which all Persons may resort for their Information.
