Order for removing
the Watch house near
the King Gate in Greys.
Inn Lane.}

Upon reading the humble Petition of Severall of the
Inhabitants of the lower End of Grays Inn Lane in the
parish of Saint Andrew Holborne in this County exhibitted
into this Court thereby shewing that the Watch house which
is placed and kept near the Kings Gate in the said Lane
stands very inconveniently for the Petitioners and is of no
use nor safety to them It was therefore prayed that the sa [..]
Inhabitants might have leave to take down the said Watch
house and to place and set up the same in some other Place
in or near the said Lane as shall be thought more safe and
convenient for the said Inhabitants Whereupon it is though
fit and ordered by this Court that the Petitioners have Liberty
to take down and remove the said Watch house new placed and
kept near the Kings Gate as aforesaid and to erect lace and
setup the same in any other place in or near the Lane as
shall be adjudged and thought by the major part of the said
Inhabitants to be most safe and convenient for them.
