To the Right Worshipfll. the General Court of the Governours of
St. Thomas's Hospital .

We the Grand Committee appointed to manage the Affairs
of this Hospital do report our Proceedings therein Since the
last Annual General Court held the 14th. day of July 1731. to be
as follow Vizt.

Grant to James
Gayler

We have agreed with James Gayler< no role > the Present Tenant of
Denham Durdant Farme in Bucks to grant him a new Lease of
that Farme for 21. years from the Expiration of the Present Lease
thereof which will expire at Michas 1733 at the Present yearly rent of
£51. Tax free and A Fine of £1550.£750 whereof to be Paid at Present and
the remaining £800 to be paid in four years Vizt £200 at Midsumr.
yearly He is to Put the Premisses in to Substantiall repair at his
Own Charge.

Patients


We have Ordered that Notice be put up in every Ward of this
Hospital that no mony or present be received from the Patient
or their friends upon any pretence whatsoever.

Courts held


We have hold Courts for our Several Mannours of Hinton
Netherhall Comberton and Meldreth in the County of Cambridge
where Courts had not been held Since the year 1724. And we
are of Opinion that Courts Should he held for our Said Mannor
every other Year or at least once in three Years.

New purchase
Timber Sold


We have Compleated the Purchase formerly agreed for at
Pinner in the County of Middlesex and have Sold the Timber there
to Captn . George Pottinger< no role > for £950 to be paid by Instalments
within a Year and an halfe.

Encroachments
at Hackney}


We having information of Several Encroachments being
made by Mr. William Finch< no role > of Hackney on Some of the
Hospital Grounds at that Place the Same were viewed by
Several of the Governours of this Hospital and we are taking
measuers to reduce those Encroachments.

Grant to Sarah
Brown

We have agreed with Sarah Brown< no role > to grant her a Lease
of a Piece of ground at Hackney called Eastfield for a Terme
of 18. Years from Lady day 1732 at the old Yearly rent of £10.
Tax free without Fine

Grant to Thomas
Dawson

We have agreed with Thomas Dawson< no role > to grant him a Lease
of five Houses fronting the High Street in the Burrough of
South wark Contiguous to the Catherine wheel Inn for a terme of
21. Year from Lady day 1732 at the Yearly rent of £20. Tax Free
and a Fine of £380 He is to have the Priviledge of taking in
the ground behind the Houses in the occupation of Mr. Sugdon
Mr. Wate and Mr. Rix for eleven feet ten inches or thereabouts
backwards into the Catherine wheel Inn and to enclose the
Same with a Brick wall and is to Submit himselfe to the
determination of this Committee with respect to any difference
which may happen thereupon between him and the Tenant
of the Said Inn He is to lay out £150 in Substantially repairing
the Premisses to the approbation of this Committee within
there Years.

Stewards allowance
on Admission of
Patients}


We have thought it reasonable to allowe to the Steward of
this Hospital Six Pence in the Pound for his trouble in Collecting
all Such mony as he Shall receive on the Admission of Patients
