Woods at Orpington
fel for-£100:


Upon a view taken of one Woods at Orpington
in Kent called Crockthorne Wood wee thought fitt to marke
for felling forty one Oakes five Elins and Two Ashes which
wee have since sold to Mr: Thomas Nith< no role > [..] for one Hundred
pounds who was to fell the same and clear the ground by
Michas last.

And there being severallWejsuongesnear
Orpington aforesaid belonging to this Hospitall the Timber
and Underwood whereof is of considerable value Wee have
appointed Mr: Thomas Rance< no role > of Widmore Green near
Bromley in. Kent to be our Wood Rceve there dureing the
pleasure of this Court with an allowance of ffour pounds per
Ann for his Care and Trouble from Michas 1701:

Wee have also agreed with the said John Jennings< no role >
for a Lease of an old House in St: Thomas's Street near the
Gully hole there late in Lease to Anne Webb< no role > decd (whose Execrs:
refuse to renew) for the Terme of Fifty One Years from Lady day
1702: at the old Rent of 44s: per Ann and a Fine of Twenty
pounds to be paid within a Month He is to lay out One Hundred
and Fifty pounds in Building of a Substantiall New brick
House in room of the said Old House within Two years and to have
Two made stepps at the least out of the street into the New House.

Wee have alsoe agreed with the said John Jennings< no role >
for a Lease of an old Tenement and a peice of Garden ground in
the Tents in St: Thomas's parish late in Lease alsoe to the
abovenamed Ann Webb< no role > decd which expired at Lady day 1702:
For 51: years from that time at 44s: per Ann and a Fine of
Ten pounds to be paid in a Month He is to lay out One
Hundred pounds in Building a New House on part of the
premisses within Five years He is alsoe to remove the House
of Easement which now stands over the Ditch and goes into the
ground on the otherside and is to Digg a Vault in some other
part of the premisses and not to make any privy for the future
over the Ditch And soe much of the Garden shall be laid into
the passage or Alley as will make the same at least Six foot
wide
