Islington in the County of Middlesex Grazier to lett him a Lease of a
Farm and Eighty seven arres of Land (litle more or less) at Parndon in
the County of Essex now in the Tenure of the said Richard Branson< no role > or
his Assigns for the term of One and Twenty years from Michaelmass
One Thousand seven hundred and one (at which time the present Lease thereof
made to Eliz Beard doth expire) at and under the yearly rent of Eight pounds
(which is Forty shillings Anum more then the Old Least) and for a Fine of
One hundred and Fifty pounds to be paid as Follows (Vizt) £50: part thereof
at or before the 2d: day of February last £50: other part thereof at or before
Michaelmass day next ensuing and £50: residue & in full payment of the said
sum of £150: at or before Lady day then next ensuing and with such other

We have also contracted with Henry Collyer< no role > Citizen & Glover of London
to Grant him a Lease of the Scite of the Manor of Alvethley and Lands thereof
adjoyning for the Term of Twenty one years from Michaelmass One Thousand
seven hundred and one (at which time the present Lease thereof made to Richard
Taylor< no role > Deced doth expire) at and under the Old yearly rent of One hundred
pounds payable half yearly and for a Fine of Fifteen hundred pounds to be
paid as Follows (Vizt.) One Thousand pounds part thereof on or before
Christmass day last past and Five hundred pounds residue and in full of
the said Fine of £1500: at or before Michaelmass:1701:aforesaid And he
to Convenant to lay out & expend the sum of Five hundred pounds within
the first seven years of the terme of the said intended new lease in
newbuilding a Substantill brick house & Out houses in the most
convenient place in the Uplands part of the premisses and to plant an
Orchard and One Thousand Trees of Oak Ash or Thu within the
two first years of the same terme in the most fitt places for growth
upon & about the said Lands and maintain that number of those sorts
all the said terme and so leave that full number at the end or other soon
determinacon of the same Terme And also to convenant to keep &
maintain a family of six persons at least allwais residing in some
house or houses upon the said premisses from time to time dureing all
the said terme & not to plow or digg up any of the Marsh Lands
belonging to the said premisses during the said term without lease
of the Comittee of Governor of the said Hospital of St. Thomas for the
time being and with such other Covenants and except one (mutatis
mutandis) not by this agreement altered or added as are contained
